Council members

The Council normally has fourteen members including the Chairman and Vice-Chairman. Members come from a range of backgrounds and experience, but they serve as individuals and do not represent any "constituency".

The members are appointed by the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, in consultation with the First Minister.  They are appointed in according to the Code of Practice of the Office of the Commission for Public Appointments. Appointments are for a period of up to five years.
