SCC Welcomes OFT Tough Stance on House Builders

The Office of Fair Trading is today publishing a report into the house building sector following a series of concerns brought to it by the Scottish Consumer Council and its UK counterpart, the National Consumer Council.

Prisoners to pay a fairer price for calls
22 September 2008
Providers of prison phone calls have been told by Ofcom today to reduce their prices and renegotiate the contracts following a super-complaint issued to the regulator on 24 June 2008. The complaint was issued by the Scottish Consumer Council (SCC) alongside the National Consumer Council, and Welsh Consumer Council (WCC), with the support of the Prison Reform Trust (PRT).

This one day conference will examine how the Scottish Government intends to tackle increasing rates of childhood obesity, through the Healthy Eating, Active Living action plan and the broader strategy for a healthier Scotland. More info can be found here.
